Watch out EVA & China Airlines, there’s a new player in town. Starlux Taiwan has just touched down in Los Angeles and it is launching this new route with a BANG.
Effective immediately, Starlux today has partnered with Alaska Airlines in earning elite miles with this specific OneWorld carrier. On top of that starting this summer, redemptions will also become available starting at 20,000 miles for economy, 40,000 for premium economy, and 60,000 for business class.
For now, the only way to fly this airline is booking it cash (orrrrr winning a lucky raffle at its Los Angeles media event… no, the winner is not me)
Tonight is the first time in history where a third Taiwanese Airline is stationed at LAX. 茶湯會 TP Tea boba not included
The excitement in the air is definitely palpable. You can tell everyone is overly delighted to see Starlux take its inaugural LAX-TPE flight.

Overall, it’s sooo cool to see this airline become a transpacific reality. I understand geeking out at LAX-TPE over an airplane is not normal! Having childhood upbringing from Taiwan, my passion in this airline is definitely skewed.
That being said, I can’t wait to try Starlux Taiwan later this year and give a personal lens in what this airline is like. Stay tuned 🙂
