Like Four Seasons, the Ritz Carlton Koh Samui commands quite a $$$$ price on one of Thailand’s most popular island destination. Since the influx of tourists in the country’s reopening, standard rooms now average $400+ USD.
Booking
Unlike the Four Seasons, you can pool (pun intended) your Marriott points to redeem a free night here.
After racking all those points, you can spend 70,000 points – 130,000 points here depending on what type of rooms you book.
Ultimate Pool Villa
Since this stay was before Thailand’s reopening, capacity at this hotel was extremely low. With the combination of Lifetime Platinum status, we generously got upgraded all the way up to the “Ultimate Pool Villa”.
Cash rates for this room tends to hover at around 1000+ USD / night!
Chloe got the pampered VIP treatment and received the cutest hand written welcome card from the hotel.

They also creatively decorated the bedroom with folded Thai elephants like the Conrad hotel.
Bathroom overlooks your private pool with an unobstructed panoramic ocean view.
With your own private patio deck to wine & dine.

For transportation, a personal buggy can be called to take you around the resort.
if you fancy, swim by the main pool
work on your miniature golf swing
or get “buff” at its gym
after workout, head to the restaurant for some breakfast, which is complimentary for Marriott Platinum members.
Overall, this was an one-off fantastic value stay. Given the resurgence of tourism, there’s no way we would get such a wild upgrade to the “Ultimate Pool Villa” room today. The villa is incredibly new, spacious, and well-designed.
That being said, it’s honestly hard to imagine actually paying $1000 USD/night here. For us personally…
