Smack in the center of Sunset Strip, the Pendry West Hollywood is a new design centric hotel that is an exciting addition for the Montage and Pendry Residences. We recently stayed at the Pendry San Diego, so naturally the Pendry West Hollywood tickled our curiosity.
Booking
Like the Pendry San Diego, this boutique hotel rates can be quite pricey. Cash rates on a normal weekend averages $500 USD. Even worse, on a holiday weekend the rates can peak at $875 USD/night.
Luckily the Pendry West Hollywood is also a Preferred Hotel & Resorts partner. Thus instead of ponying up $875/night, we were able to snag this hotel using 27,500 Citi ThankYou points, which is an incredible steal. More details in how this was executed here.
Room
California cool, you can still smell the “newness” of the hotel in the room. Personally, I love the blue breezy tones, which lightens up this warm-toned room.
The travertine marble floors and the light cream walls brightens the whole bathroom. Not to mention, the water pressure is spectacularly strong.
Insider tips
1) Upon checking-in, you can request a welcome Pendry bear, which Chloe definitely appreciated.
2) Not advertised but known amongst insiders, the Pendry West Hollywood comes with a little fun secret. Head to the lobby bar and say “SUNSET” to the mixologist. The lobby will suddenly transform into an open bar and they will spike any drink (vodka, gin, tequila, whiskey, you name it) for free.
3) At the Pendry West Hollywood, there’s a Moët champagne vending machine. If you find a “P” under the bottle, you get an extra free night stay at this hotel.
4) Hotel guests can reserve a private screening room to host a viewing party
Pool
Like the Pendry San Diego, the Pendry West Hollywood attracts the classic California crowd. You can swipe left and right just to see how similar the two pools are.
Chloe loved this pool and spent quite a bit of time kicking/splashing around.
Pendry Cadillac
At select locations at the Pendry, you can rent any Cadillacs in their fleet and go anywhere you want up to 4 hours during your stay.
In Los Angeles, this is super convenient since driving is a must to get around town. And get this…
GAS IS INCLUDED
Overall, the Pendry West Hollywood is a great new addition for the Los Angeles scene. Being locals, this was a great staycation and escape from the hustle & bustle of our busy lives.
Marriotts, Hiltons, IHG, and Hyatts have a great global footprint, but it’s nice to change it up once in awhile and try one of these boutique independent hotels — redeeming it for 27,500 Citi points makes this an even sweeter loophole bonus
