Being savvy in how you optimize spending (especially for Americans) is the single best way to stretch your dollar to maximize memories with travel. One of the most common ways for a “boost” in your points portfolio is a spending bonus like the Chase Preferred Credit Card — only problem is that most people think that you’re only limited to get this boost one time. In reality, you can get it twice or heck… we got the bonus (again) today for the THIRD time.
History
In 2009, the Chase Preferred Credit Card was launched in conjunction with the successful Chase Freedom card. Back then bonuses were only limited to every 24 months, so getting multiple bonuses stacked with one another were quite easy (especially if you’re in the Chase Private Client program).
So in 2011, we got our first Chase Preferred Card at 50,000 UR points (that was a lot back then!)
Then in 2014, we got the bonus again at 50,000 UR points (that was still a lot back then!)
What you can do with Chase Ultimate Rewards
There are countless creative ways to redeem UR points. One of the most epic ways we used Chase UR points was to redeem for Singapore Airlines Suite Class.

or aspirational hotels like the Andaz Toranomon Hills in Tokyo, Japan thru the World of Hyatt program.
80K Sign-Up Bonus
Until 5/31/22, there’s a generous 80k signup bonus for Chase Sapphire Preferred card.
Chase banks have a 48 month limitation between bonuses, but this “boost” is still possible if you’re patient. After you spend 4K, hip hip hooray, new 80,000 bonus points boosted to your account.
50,000 (2011) + 50,000 (2014) + 80,000 (2022) = 180,000 UR points.
All that requires is time 😉
