This is a friendly reminder that tomorrow is the last day to transfer Chase Preferred® to Hyatt at 1:1 even ratio. Going forward, it will require 33% more points to redeem the same hotel. This is on top of Hyatt’s own dynamic devaluation just couple months ago. If you have a future fancy Hyatt you want to book with points, the time is now for a speculative transfer.

Chase Sapphire Preferred®
This kinda arcs back to when Emirates did a points transfer devaluation to its own loyalty program. Our fears came true since it sent ripple effects in setting precedent for uneven transfer ratios. After 15 years of 1:1 even transfer ratios, they are scaling back the partnership starting midnight October 1st

Here’s a real life example. If you transfer 198,000 points now, you will get 198,000 Hyatt points. After tomorrow it will shrink to 148,500 Hyatt points. That’s almost 50,000 points net loss in points transfer. You can stay a night at Park Hyatt Kyoto for that amount.
Or almost an entire week at Hyatt Regency Koh Samui

Overall, this is bad news no matter how you stack it. The silver lining is if you have Chase Reserve cards, your points are still safe at 1:1 transfer ratio. For everyone else, it’s the final nail on the coffin for Chase to Hyatt points awards.
