Japan is stacked with two amazing airlines that offers the World’s Best Business Class experience. On our recent trip, we had a special opportunity to not only fly Miki’s favorite First Class again, but also try the airline’s new Business Class for the first time to see how it stacks up to last year’s All Nippon Airways The Room.
Real Estate
Similar to Singapore Suites, it’s not even a competition when it comes to real estate. Spanning at almost one meter wide, All Nippon Airways The Room is easily the world’s largest Business Class seat putting some other Delta United American airlines to shame.

Japan Airlines new Business Class seat strength is its modern design. Despite it being not as “roomy”, it still has a comfortable and open air feel when you enter the cabin. I also personally love the burgundy hues to the leather seats.

Sleep Quality
The sleep quality is amazzzing on both airlines. On ANA, it feels like there’s limitless space for Chloe to roll around when she’s sleeping. It made it extremely easy to fly alone with her without mommy on this flight.

For Japan Airlines, the seat mattress quality is even better than All Nippon Airways. Even though it’s not as wide, it’s so comfortable that you just pass out.

Family Service
When it comes to families, I personally find All Nippon Airways service to be superior to Japan Airlines. Generally I notice the airline balances its “omotenashi” service with more vibrant and warmer hospitality that translates really well with kids.

Japan Airlines service tends to be more refined and formal, which is better for adults.

Who is the Business Class winner? Overall, I personally think ANA The Room still gets the edge. Real estate is super important when it comes to long haul flights and when you pair it with its friendly hospitality, it makes flying with kids feel like a walk in the park. That being said if you’re an adult traveling solo, the new Japan Airlines Business Class may be the one for you. Either way, you’re in for a treat.
