It’s always been a love hate relationship with Equinox. Like a toxic girlfriend for the past 10 years, we’ve been on and off (and on) again at this fancy gym. Annual memberships now almost equal to an one-way Business Class flight and dare I say it’s now double the cost of Miki’s ultra-premium Disneyland Inspire Key. Well good news for those that have the AMEX Platinum card… here’s some ways you can save a couple Benjamins.
Equinox Orange County
O.C. is blessed with having three Equinox at your disposable. Depending on your membership, you can have access to all of them but the two notable ones are Equinox Irvine Sports Club and Huntington Beach.
There are lots of classes that you can attend everyday. It’s like CorePower, Barre, and CrossFit all in one place.
If you have all access guest passes or spa appointment, you can even use them at other locations (i.e. Los Angeles/New York) when you’re traveling. For example one time I was in LA Century City with my brother, so I decided to swing by this destination gym before lunch.
AMEX Platinum Benefit
For those that have AMEX Platinum, it’s worth noting that you get $300 credit applied to all Equinox memberships every calendar year. For non-members, you can even use it for SoulCycle At-Home Bike too.
Up until last year, you could even use it for spa services like a massage after a tense workout.
Overall, Equinox puts “Health is Wealth” to the credit card max. It is an investment in a lifestyle that makes certain splurges like zero blackout dates at Disney a value steal. Thankfully, there are perks such as partnerships with AMEX Platinum that makes it more worthwhile. Until then, let the love hate relationship continue…
