Situated next to Carnegie Hall, this swanky category 6 hotel is a great option to use your Hyatt points. At just 29k points/night, it provides an attractive value compared to the Park Hyatt New York next door for longer stays in the city.
Booking
Cash rates tends to hover ~$700/night (before taxes/fees) which is typical for New York.
To save thousands of dough since we’re booking multiple rooms for multiple nights, you can book this with Hyatt points. Yay!
Upper Stories
The hotel proactively upgraded us to a separate section of the hotel called the “Upper Stories”. It is basically rooms that are on higher floors with nicer amenities.
The “Upper Stories” rooms are tastefully designed. Opened in Sept ’22, you can tell the furniture finishes still feels brand new — even the Nespresso machines are the fancy Vertuo pods
The Dyson hairdryer with DS & Durga amenities are appreciated. My hair certainly loved it in the mornings.

You can even see a glimpse of Central Park on the “Upper Stories” floors too.
Carnegie Hall
Notably we booked this hotel because we had an important event to attend at Carnegie Hall.
CHLOE’S PIANO PERFORMANCE
Logistically, it made everything much more seamless when you’re just a doorstep away from the stage’s entrance. You can change into pajamas after the performance in a minute’s time.
Breakfast Lounge
For Globalists members, they provide a complimentary breakfast lounge. It’s a nice area for you to chill/work in the mornings.

Perfect for the grab and go before taking a stroll around Central Park.
Overall, Thompson Central Park feels like a 5 star hotel at a 4 star hotel price. At only 29k points/night, this new hotel is an attractive option for those that need multiple rooms/longer stays in New York City. The staffs here are proactively accommodating and made Chloe’s first piano performance in Carnegie Hall a prestigious luxurious experience.
