Starlux A350 Business Class Los Angeles to Taipei

Los Angeles is Starlux’s proud flagship route since we attended its inaugural party in April 2023. Fast forward to today, it’s fitting and exciting to officially fly this 14hr+ long haul flight to see how it stacks against its premium competitors to Taiwan on its one year anniversary.

Booking

Before its devaluation, Alaska Airlines launched a lucrative partner promo where you can book its Business Class for only 60,000 miles.

Unfortunately the promo was incredibly short lived and now non-saver rates is priced at an exorbitant price of 175,000 miles…

Seat 2A

To change it up from our previous Starlux flight, I opt for 2A which is on the other side of 2K. Like last time, it is right behind the empty First Class cabin.

I personally recommend avoiding Rows 6, 7, and/or 8 since it is situated quite close to the lavatory in the A350 aircraft.

The welcome amenity is a cute mini BRICS italian suitcase.

On the side there’s a moisturizer facial essence mask, which is quite generous since this amenity is usually only gifted in First Class cabins.

For wine lovers, the champagne given on this flight is a Charles Heidsieck Blanc de Blanc, which averages around $90 USD/bottle.

The champagne pairs well with the international dinner courses for the midnight flight.

Nod to tradition, I decided to play a little blind tasting game. I stacked two white wine bottles against each other and told the flight attendant to not tell me which one was served. For those curious, my palate definitely preferred the New Zealand wine.

After the tasting game, the flight attendant proactively set up the bed for a good night flight.

To be honest, I didn’t sleep much and watched random cartoons in bed with congee breakfast instead.

Overall Starlux A350 Business Class is a stylish way to fly from Los Angeles to Taipei. All the flight attendants were genuinely attentive and so nice. Though the Business Class cabin can feel “cramped” (First World problems I know) at times compared to bigger aircrafts, its phenomenal design & soft product offerings is a delight to enjoy for the long haul flight. At the right price, I would be happy to fly Starlux to Asia again.
