This year Seattle scored a big upgrade in their AMEX Centurion Lounge. Completely from scratch, this Centurion is at a brand new location above the mezzanine level at the airport’s Central Terminal. Stylistically, it reminds me a lot of the AMEX Centurion Lounge Hong Kong with its open air layout.
What’s unique about this Centurion is that it features a coffee roastery called
“Blue Roast”
This place is a nod to Seattle’s long standing history as the world’s center for caffeine.
At the Blue Roast, it features wellness drinks such as “Strawberry Banana Smoothie”, “Green Machine Smoothie”, “Hearly Smoothie”, and/or even a “Power Bowl” if you feel like you’re already too caffeinated.
They even have Kombucha on tap.
Like Hong Kong, there’s a bar by the open terrace.
Overall, this is probably one of the more creative lounges in AMEX Centurion Lounges network. Rather than doing a cookie cutter design, this lounge expands in a massive way that does a nod to the city of Seattle. Even though the Alaska Airlines Flagship Lounge is better, it’s still worth a visit if you’re ever transiting in this area.

While it is much better than the old location, it gets very crowded with a wait list at times (read: most of the time), and you have to go to the bar for soft drinks. I do like that there are usually plenty of vegetarian options.
