W Bali Seminyak

Happy birthday bro!!! The day finally happened, he has officially joined the old AF club. For his big 40th birthday, we did a family trip decade celebration to Bali, Indonesia. On brand to our international preferences, we selected the W Bali Seminyak as our party destination.

Booking

For points booking, a standard room hovers dynamically around 50k-70k/night. Cash rates average 300 USD/night, which felt like a much better deal.

To make it sweeter, the hotel massively upgraded all our rooms to suites and villas for this stay. Chloe’s face at the check-in lobby pretty much sums up our excitement when it happened.

Escape Suite

The escape suite is an expansive room the size of a fancy apartment. Spanning 1300+ sqft on the top floor, the entrance has a living room with an oversized long L-shaped sofa connecting to the bedroom. The statement piece to this suite is its master bathroom and the interconnecting oceanfront terrace.

WET® pool

The suite is walking distance to the main pool. Throughout our 3-night stay, guess how many times Chloe jumped in the pool 😂

Oasis One Bedroom Villa

If you want your own private pool, choose the Oasis One Bedroom Villa. Spanning 2400 sqft, you can hop out of your bathtub and jump into your pool.

Breakfast(s) for a King

The breakfasts here are on another level. Everything can be ordered a la carte and the local/international selection felt limitless. Some days we even skipped lunch because we were so stuffed from all these noms noms noms…

Location

The location of this hotel is super central. Its walking distance to a lot of local bars and nightlife. A notable favorite was called the Iron Fairy. It’s a bar designed to make you feel you’re inside a clock. Very fitting for a guy turning 40 to a new decade 😉

One more notable favorite that is a short drive (or scooter) from W Bali is FINNS Beach Club. This beachfront party blew our minds. The dancing… the drinking… the dining… the swimming… the vibrant friendly energy with random people from different parts of the world socializing with one another.

Overall, W Bali Seminyak is a luxury beach resort that checks all the boxes. This is our first time in Indonesia and it felt like a party paradise for royalties. Bali is not an easy destination to get to, but coming from personal experience it’s well worth the (birthday) journey.
