There’s a niche benefit that not many people use when you have a long layover with Emirates. If you qualify, Dubai Connect sponsors your hotel, dining, and airport chauffeurs for free — you read that right, free.
Eligibility
The eligibility is hard coded into the Emirates website and will automatically populate on your itinerary. Simply put, if you’re traveling in Economy or Premium Eco, you qualify if you have a connection 8 hrs-26 hrs. If you’re traveling in Business or First Class, you qualify if you have a connection 6 hrs-26 hrs long.
In our case, Miki had a 8 hr transit in First Class which qualified her to getting sponsored for Dubai Connect. It’s crazy generous to think Emirates will still give her a hotel room when it’s just 8 hours long.
JW Marriott Marquis Dubai
For First Class transit passengers, you are assigned to the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai which is conveniently located in Business Bay.
Upon arrival, you’ll get a complimentary airport chauffeur to the hotel. Normally you have to be a revenue passenger to qualify for this type of service, but Dubai Connect grants this for First Class award tickets too.
Upon arrival, simply go to the front desk to check-in and they’ll present your hotel and meal vouchers for your transit stay.
Here’s home for the next 8 hours
sponsored by Emirates
It’s a great opportunity to have a little pick me up at Arabica…
Of course, swing by the Burj Khalifa…
And a niiice much needed bubble bath before your next First Class flight
Overall, Emirates Dubai Connect is an amazing program that sponsors passengers with long transits. For First Class passengers, it’s a seamless experience where you get the opportunity to have a complimentary five star hotel with fancy chauffeur transportation plus meals. Most importantly, you get a memorable bonus destination — a baller way to spend 8 hours in Dubai for free.
