Around the World with Emirates Introduction

Alright time to share some tea. This post is an introduction to a travel diary series in how we pulled off three continents in three weeks with the majority of the flights fortuitously in Emirates Business and First Class. Our travel schedules have been crazy this past few weeks. We clocked in over 30,000 miles (50,000km) that’s more than the Earth’s circumference!

I don’t even know what time zone I’m in anymore…

How it happened

Contrary to what most people think, we did not do this voluntarily 😵‍💫 the original plan was suppose to be just for Chloe’s spring break. During her holidays, we use it as an opportunity to have her connect with the world. She saw France, Switzerland, and Italy for the very first time with our close friends that lives in Germany.

Italy

Then weeks leading up to the event, Miki suddenly needed to be in India for a last minute work trip. Let it be destiny or the UAE stars aligning or just pure coincidence, guess what’s the only airline that has direct flights to India? You guessed it… Emirates

And wow the airline really knows how to mix business with pleasure for the journey there

Why Dubai too

Emirates offers a special program where they incentivize you to visit their transit destination. The program is called Dubai Connect where your entire connection is sponsored by the airline including the hotel.

How do you fly Emirates in Europe

There are selected routes around the world that Emirates travels to without transiting in Dubai. These are called Fifth Freedom flights and they tend to be of higher value since you avoid the levy surcharges in award redemptions. Notably, there’s one that operates from MXP-JFK with their famous bar in the sky.

Overall, I’m still buzzing (pun intended) on how we pulled all this off. What a great way to travel around the world get ready for a lot of content with Emirates. In the stories to follow, I’ll try to share more tips in how you can do it too. Stay tuned.
