Talk about perfect timing. Just a month ago, Starlux unveiled this spanking new lounge at Taoyuan International Airport (TPE). As I happened to be transferring in Terminal 2 for Bangkok, this served as the perfect opportunity to be amongst the first to try this new lounge.
Access
Business & First Class passengers flying on Starlux with the same day booking can access the Galactic lounge. Those with top tier statuses like Insighter can enter too regardless of cabin class. Beyond that, there’s no other partners for access.
A huge benefit to this lounge is how limited Starlux flights are in Terminal 2 — this area is usually reserved for just a handful of long haul flights.
Since the majority of Starlux flights depart from Terminal 1, most people will naturally gravitate towards its smaller boutique lounge. Hence, my visit there was pleasantly empty.
Galactic Lounge
Upon walking thru the sliding doors, you immediately notice vibrant yellow lockers that are reserved to store your carry-on bags on the left. On the right, there are leisure magazines and snacks.
On the upper floor, there are restaurant style seating where you scan a QR code to order food a la carte. The furnitures are so new that you can still smell the new upholstery.
Since I went into the city to eat breakfast, I wasn’t too hungry but I decided to sample on some of its early lunch offerings.
After the munchies, I got escorted down to the lower floor to take a nice shower before my flight. The lighting and mood almost resembles a sensual nightclub.
Even the toiletries in the shower suites are branded with Starlux.
Overall, Starlux Galactic Lounge in Terminal 2 is a huge expansion compared to its sister lounge in Terminal 1. The offerings are delightfully the same yet the design is flipped & out of this world futuristic. Most notably, it has an awesome shower suite where you can freshen up before your flight. If you have a few hours and have access, this is a sexy lounge for you to enjoy in Taiwan.
