It’s exciting to see Starlux finally opening another lounge in Taipei. During Chinese New Year, the airline unveiled its newest lounge at Terminal 2. For the longest time, passengers flying internationally to Los Angeles and San Francisco needed to go all the way to Terminal 1 to experience the airline’s flagship lounge.
Today we’ll share more details in what the lounge experience is like with this new airline.
Access
Located in TPE Terminal 1, Starlux grants access to this lounge for all passengers departing in Business and First Class. Additionally for those that hold Insighter status to their loyalty program, you can access this lounge regardless of cabin class.
Insighter tier privilege(s) includes inviting up to two companions too if they’re departing on the same flight.
Lounge
The space itself is quite intimate. With its limited access & small space, it is designed to maybe accommodate only 25+ passengers at most comfortably. That being said, the lounge is beautifully decorated with light oriental color scheme. It’s a great place to open Starlux’s annual surprise gifts 😉
It’s a restaurant style lounge where you can order a meal set. For breakfast you can order
1. Fuhang Soy Milk 阜杭豆漿 Famous breakfast spot in Taipei. In the city it’s common to queue as long as an hour+ for it! Thankfully, no need to wait if you order this same soy milk at the Galactic lounge.
2. Traditional Breakfast
3. Starlux Specialty Ramen
We wanted to try them all because why not.
Additionally there’s a buffet area where you can choose quite an impressive line up of drinks.
For snacks, a notable dessert option they offer is the famous pineapple cake from Season Cuisine Pâtissiartism
Overall, Starlux Galactic is a great intimate lounge for its premium passengers. Despite its small space, it offers delicacies that lets you taste a little bit of Taiwan before you head back home. Its cozy and warmth design added to its premium complimentary offerings makes this a fantastic starting point for the airline’s first-ever lounge.
I look forward in checking out its other new lounge in Terminal 2 the next time we fly Starlux to/from Taiwan.
